Instead of: I must be doing something wrong. Try: This is a hard stage even when you are doing things right.
Instead of: Why do I have to tell them a hundred times. Try: Repetition is how young children learn.
Instead of: They know better. Try: Their brain is still learning how to stop & think.
Instead of : They are being so dramatic. Try: Their feelings seem big in their little body.
Instead of: Nothing is working. Try: Learning takes time and progress isn’t always a straight line.
Instead of: Other kids do not act like this. Try: Every child develops at their own pace.
Instead of: They are doing this on purpose. Try: They are still learning skills like impulsive control.
Instead of seeing it as a negative. Try shifting your mindset and using language that helps you understand your child. You are not failing, this is just a normal part of development. You are doing great!
