Possible signs of autism:
- Has an age appropriate vocabulary, but does not use it in age appropriate ways
- Confuses pronouns-refers to self in third person longer than is developmentally expected
- Plays with or carries around parts of objects or toys
- If playing with same age children, is treated by them as a much younger child
- Shows skills with parents or siblings but not with others outside of the home
- Sleep problems
- Unusual phobias
- Very picky/rigid in some areas-food, clothes, routines, used words, activities, etc.
